So many new things going on with Jake as of late. First, Jake started going on the potty. Now Jake is starting preschool. It's all going by so fast.

Since Milo is off to a new home, we no longer have use for the dog pen. So we decided to build two raised bed gardens in that area.

We got home from Disneyland on Thursday. Riding the rides at Disneyland and California Adventure was fun, but it wasn't all shits and giggles -- that's for sure.

Okay, the mohawk was looking more like a skunk than anything else, and it was drawing stares. So, I buzzed it off.

Another lesson learned...Jake was swinging on his swingset. The swingset is only equiped with U-shaped swings, which are meant for older children.

Today, Jake and I met Erik, Grandma and Grandpa for lunch at Skates. Skates is an awesome restaurant that sits directly on the Bay. It has excellent food, service and view.

Yay! The playset is finished! Erik finally attached the last part of the playset -- the rock wall. He also leveled and braced it.

Jake was due for another haircut (or head shave, I should say), so I decided it was time for a mohawk.

After a long day in bed, feeling sick, Erik managed to get the playset 99% done. It's functional, but we need to do some supporting, padding and attach the rock wall.

Jake's back to feeling bad again. He made it through yesterday feeling pretty good. He ate regular meals and seemed to be fine. Then, he woke this morning looking and feeling bad again. That's when I discovered Erik was still in bed -- sick.

Jake's feeling better. After a day of barfing up water (and anything else that made its way down the old food tube), Jake was jumping around on the bed this morning. Although, he did have a couple of instances where he said his belly hurt and he wanted me to "rub it".

When I put him down for his nap on Sunday we were lying in his race car bed singing, "You are my Sunshine". He then said, "My belly hurts" and so I asked him why. He didn't seem too bothered and we went right back to singing and reading. He seemed okay.

Now that the rain has let up, Erik is attempting the erection of Jake's playset. The instructions state that its completion should take between 8 and 16 hours to complete. That's quite a span of time.

The one and only ride at Six Flags that Jake can go solo is the airplane ride. He's more than happy to take control of the wheel and fly in circles until the pretty little ride attendant unbuckles his seat belt.

Today, a wonderful new family took in Milo as their new family member. His new family includes two older children and lots of room to run.

It's been raining so hard here, for so long, I'm expecting Noah's Ark to come and rescue us, two by two. When will it ever stop???

It's clear Jake has inherited the Torino gene. Every chance he gets, he wants to sit in the front seat of Erik's Torino and pretend to drive it. As you can imagine, this is Erik's dream - a Torino-loving minnie-me. Erik has always secretly dreamed of the day when he could share his love of cars with his own son.

Seems our little outing to the lake brought more than just fun. Erik and I look like dogs with fleas thanks to a little poison oak. Luckily Jake doesn't have any.

All of Erik's hard work has paid off once again. He received a nice pay raise and bonus for doing such a great job at work. It's good to see he's appreciated and acknowledged for his ass-busting.

In a few weeks, Stacey will begin reviewing the 2nd edition of Building Biotechnology. She's very excited about the project and looks forward to "diving in".
