How Erik & Stacey Became "The Lloyds"

Erik & Stacey met in July 2001 at their company picnic at Waterworld in Concord, CA. Stacey & Shawna were hanging out on the grass just "people-watching" and shooing the guys away that were constantly trying to get their attention. Suddenly, Stacey spotted a familiar face. It was that dork from work who kept coming by her office, and despite Stacey trying to pretend to be sleeping, he came over anyway to bother them. Mercifully, he eventually ran out of awkward conversation, which mostly centered on Start Trek trivia, and left.

Well, for some reason Shawna, being young and naive to what characteristics in a man constitute a "stud" or "hottie", thought Erik would be a decent boyfriend so she bugged and bugged Stacey to "hurry-up" and ask him out. So, about a week later, Stacey finally did just that so as to stop the bugging. It wasn't too hard to find the opportunity as Erik seemed to be in Stacey's office just about every day with one lame excuse after another.

So, they went out on a few dates and being that Stacey was new to California without much else to do, she hung out with Erik long enough to move in with him and take over his apartment, which she affectionately called "The Cave".

Within a year, Erik got down on one knee and asked Stacey to be the person that could tell him everything he does wrong until eternity (for those of you who are not married, that means "wife"). Stacey said, "Well, got nuttin' better going on and I don't feel like packing up all my stuff again, so what the heck "yes". Disgusted by all of Erik's "possessions" and "The Cave" that housed them, the new couple bought a "suitable" home in Napa. The few possessions that Erik was allowed to keep were all crammed into one bay of a 3-car garage, never to be seen by the outside world again.

In November of 2002, Erik knocked up Stacey, but they didn't find out until December. After holding many successful yard sales, Erik and Stacey had enough change to get married at the beautiful Ledson Winery castle on March 29, 2003.

Erik was so hung over from the Bachelor Party he had to use a cane to hold himself up, and somehow he must've gotten his wardrobe mixed up because he showed up in a powder blue tuxedo...and ala The Dumb and Dumber wedding! Stacey managed to cram her 5-mos.-pregnant body into a white wedding gown (she didn't fool anyone--we all knew she was knocked up) and waddled herself down a flight of stairs.

Each had written their own vows and shared them for the first time with each other at the ceremony. Their vows were a little odd with all the references to Torinos, freaky friends, and Homer Simpson but somewhere in there was the traditional "love and eternity", blah, blah, blah "I now pronounce you man and wife".

Jake came on the scene on August 1, 2003 (just two days before Shawna's birthday -- the due date, July 31st, was the same! Try that a third time! There are some mammals that only mate once per year on the same date and apparently Stacey has some of those genetics.) Erik, Stacey, and Jake have been living happily ever after ever since!
